Original hand-cut 100 piece Jigsaw
I hand cut the jigsaw from an old bit of hard board I found around the house, which seemed to have interesting marks already in it and was painted on one side. I then sanded each piece and painted a clear impasto medium on the back and scratched marks into them.
Stacked Jigsaw
Images of the jigsaw stacked into two piles.
I painted an image of the front and back of a woman's torso onto the edge of half of the jigsaw pieces. On the other stack an image was projected onto it - 'there but not there' - dwelling between. Recorded for a short time.
This was done before the pieces were sent out to 100 people - family, friends, artists, gallery owners and arts writers.
The letter below accompanied each jigsaw piece.
